Wife, Mom, Nurse, Fashion Designer wannabe, I've been sewing for 44 years (really!). I'm a Jane of all trades, but master of none. I have a little knowledge about everything sewing and always learning more.
5 years ago, I decided my time to study fashion design had come. Then my Dad had a stroke a year after I started. Many things have changed since, my Father passed away, and I lost interest in finishing school, the sense of urgency lost. Maybe someday in the near future I will return, with only 4 classes to go.
I have 2 kids, neither of which is interested in sewing, much to my dismay. I mean, who is going to inherit my sewing machine, serger, embroidery machine with countless designs, and the endless bolts of fabric I have accumulated? My husband has given up trying to understand how I can be so addicted to sewing and all it’s related paraphernalia, but has graciously donated the formal living room, formal dining room, and various other spaces to my stuff.
My goal with this blog is to help you get great results while learning to sew, or maybe learn some techniques, how to use your machine, how to read and cut a pattern, put it together, all with minimal expense. When possible, I will post patterns available for free online or how to make the patterns yourself. I
would like to stay a few months ahead as well, so you can have your
projects ready by the time that special day or holiday rolls around.
Please send me any suggestions or questions you may have.
I will post videos or pictures when possible, I'm still learning about all the equipment, so if you have any advice on what would be best to videotape instructions, I'd appreciate it! I hope you enjoy my take on sewing and feel free to tell me what you'd like to see here
Thanks, Edna
